Demeter is a fun quick sew designed to be a handy reusable shopping bag. This bag can be stored folded so you can throw it in your glove box or purse so that you always have it handy for your next trip to the store. And when you’re ready to use it, it opens up into a roomy bag to hold all your purchases. This unlined bag is beginner friendly, with minimal fabric and hardware requirements.
Note: This is a measure and cut pattern. There are no pattern pieces.
Skill Level: Beginner
Approximate Measurements: 14" W x 12" H x 4" D*
*When expanded
Fabric and Interfacing:
• 1 yd Non-Directional Exterior Fabric*
• 12” Pre-made ½” double fold bias tape
*Recommended fabrics include: Ripstop Nylon, Nylon Taffeta, Boardshort Fabric, Medium Weight Canvas. This pattern is not suitable for quilting cotton and similar fabrics.
If your fabric is directional and less than 48” wide, you will need 1 yd 2” of fabric to account for seaming your panels.

• (1 ½ yd) 1” Wide Strap Webbing
• 24” #5 Continuous Zipper Tape w/ 1 slide
• (8”) 1/8” Wide Elastic
• Matching Thread
• Marking Pen
• Sewing Pins/Clips

• Sewing Machine w/ zig zag function OR serger
• Rotary Cutter
• Acrylic Ruler
